A Beginner's Guide to Working with Astronomical Data
With our interns and students, we work with authentic astronomical data, using both application software such as DS9 or TOPCAT and programming languages, notably Python. The current version of the "Beginner's Guide to Working with Astronomical Data" can be found here:

In several sections of the guide, we use astronomical data for demonstrating specific techniques. Download instructions are given, but I have no control over the websites they are referring to, and as those sites change, the download instructions might become obsolete. To compensate, here are some
